2025 Yamaha MT-07

What’s New:

  • Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) system: The intake system features the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) for the first time on the CP2 engine platform. The system detects the rider’s throttle inputs and the ECU instantly calculates the ideal degree of throttle valve opening to match. This results in smooth torque characteristics through the entire rev range and is a major factor in making the CP2’s easy-to-use torque even more linear in feel. It deliver excellent response at barely open throttle and power delivery riders will welcome at every rm range.
  • A&S (Assist & Slipper) Clutch: An Assist & Slipper Clutch that operates with two cams, an assist cam and slipper cam, is adopted to produce gentler machine behavior during downshift and lower the amount of force required for pulling in the clutch lever.
  • Inverted Front Fork: The new model now features an inverted front fork with 41mm inner tubes.
  • Linked-type Rear Suspension: A linked-type Monocross type suspension is adopted for the rear suspension. The spring constant was optimized to match the new inverted front fork, chassis rigidity, and machine dimensions. The shock is adjustable for preload and rebound damping, giving riders options to suit the riding environment or personal preference.
  • Radial-mount front brake calipers: The front brake calipers are now radial-mounted, providing excellent mounting rigidity and inhibiting reactive forces from being directly transmitted to the mounting bolts during braking. This in turn inhibits caliper wrapping for consistent braking force and excellent controllability.
  • Lighter Yamaha Spin Forged Wheels: This is the first time for the MT07 to feature Yamaha Spin Forged wheels, which are produced by applying pressure to the rims of a cast wheel to stretch and “spinforge” them.
  • Reworked Swingarm with higher rigidity: The swingarm was reworked for this model update. It remains left-right asymmetrical, but the upper surface have been shaved down and other changes made for a fresh look.
  • Significantly lighter triple clamp: While the current model’s triple clamp was gravity cast, the new model’s is made of die-cast aluminum. Integrated the previously separate triple clamp and handlebar holder into a single part for a significant reduction in weight.
  • Riding Position: The handlebars have been brought slightly closer and lower, while the width between the handlebar grips and footpeg position optimized so riders with larger physiques still feel comfortable.
  • Slim fuel tank and seat assembly: The fuel tank was made narrower by up to 25mm in some places, while the side covers that run up to the seat and the area around the footpegs were redesigned to have fewer protrusions and recesses. The new shape provides an easier hold with the knees to give the rider and even stronger connection to the machine. The size, shape, and cushion thickness of the seat itself have also been revised for easier leg movement and reduces weight.
  • Foot area with greater comfort: The position of the all-new footpegs has been optimized, located 10mm lower than the current model’s to give the rider more room. This results in ample space for a larger rider’s leg, which contributes to improved comfort and ease of getting on and off the bike.
  • New Compact LED headlight: The new MT07’s headlight have been completely redesigned and use a thin, compact, and small-diameter lens module. The LED position lights have also been revised to complement this change.
  • New Turn Signal Functions: In addition to the standard left/right indicators and hazard lights, three new features are added: three-flash or continuous flash signaling, emergency braking flashes, and auto-canceling.
  • 5-inch TFT display: The MT07 receives a new 5-inch full colour TFT instrument display. The speedometer is flanked by the tachometer, which displays rpm with digital bars. The panel can also display a fuel gauge, average fuel consumption, coolant, temp., ambient temp., a gearshift indicator, and more. Each can be switched between or selected by using the handlebar switches.
  • Yamaha Ride Control (YRC): YRC Modes: Sport/Street/Custom. Rider aids linked to YRC modes: Power Delivery Mode (PWR) and Traction Control System (TCS).
